"Requested web page has no DNS entry."

Use WINIPFG to insure that you are getting the proper DNS an IP addresses from Quadnet. (Click here to learn more)

Verify that you are typing the web site address correctly.

Try typing in a different web site address (Ex. www.yahoo.com). If you can get to other sites, there may be a problem with the web site.

If you cannot get to any web sites, then try Reconnecting to the Internet:

   Close your browser.

Double click on the My Computer icon on the desktop.

Double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon in the My Computer window.

Double click on the 'Quadnet' icon in the Dial-Up Networking window.

   Click on Connect.

After you are connected, open your browser and try the website again.

If you still get an error, try to Ping the Quadnet server to verify the TCP/IP connection:

Leave your connection active, but close all other programs.

Open the MS-DOS window by going to Start, Programs, MS-DOS.

At the DOS prompt, type in ping www.quadnet.net

You should get four replies. If you do not (request timed out), or the computer seems to hang, press [Ctrl] and C to cancel.

At the DOS prompt, type in ping 66.187.144.3.

You should get four replies. If you do not (request timed out), or the computer seems to hang, press [Ctrl] and C to cancel.

If you do not get a reply from www.quadnet.net or from 66.187.144.3, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the TCP/IP stack. You will need your Windows CD to do this.

Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel.

Double click on the Network icon.

Highlight Dial Up Adapter and click Remove.

Click on OK. The computer will copy files and then prompt you to restart.

   Click on OK to restart.

From the Control Panel, double click on the Network icon.

   Click on Add.

Highlight Adapter and click on Add again.

Choose Microsoft as the manufacturer on the left and choose Dial Up Adapter on the right.

Click OK. Check to be sure that TCP/IP has been added into the Installed Components list.

   Click on OK again.

Your computer should copy files from the CD, and prompt you to restart your computer. Once you restart your computer, close the Control Panel and try to connect as you normally would.
