Leaving Email on the Quadnet Mail Server
When someone sends you email, that message goes to a computer called a mail server. The message stays there until you download it, which happens automatically when you check your email. Even if you download the new message, a copy of that same message may still remain on the mail server, depending on your settings. If you leave the settings for your mailbox at the default, you will eventually exceed the 20MB quota set by Quadnet. Additional email sent to your address will be returned to the sender until you have deleted enough email on the Quadnet mail server to get below the 20MB of space.
If you access your email account from more than one computer, we recommend you leave a copy of your email messages on the server for a limited number of days, based on the frequency with which you use your second computer. By changing the default setting so your email stays only temporarily on Quadnet's email server, you will eliminate the problem of having your email box fill up quickly and having incoming email messages returned to the sender.
To leave your email messages on the Quadnet Mail Server:
In Outlook Express, select Tools > Accounts. Select your account and click Properties. In the mail Properties window, click the Advanced tab. Under Delivery, Check "Leave a copy of messages on server." Check "Remove from server after (blank) day(s)." We suggest five days as a standard. Check "Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'."
