Here is how to turn off this security option if you are receiving this error message when viewing an email in Outlook Express.

This will allow all attachments to be opened, so if you do this make sure your anti-virus software is up to date! (You do have anti-virus software installed?)

To turn off this option, go to the menu bar and select "Tools" > "Options" an click it. You will be given the Options dialog box.

Click on the "Security" tab. You will see a checkbox beside text that reads, "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. That's the culprit right there. Uncheck that box and then click "Apply", then "OK" to deactivate this feature. You will now be able to open your attachments with no problem.
